ShippoSouten: Family of Foxes

Meet the Shunrai family of fox/thunder demons 8D

FANBABIES! For Shippo/Souten from Inuyasha. And YES, this is directly related to my "Raindrops" Doujinshi Chapter 06 more specifically: [link]

A grown up Shippo and his mate (at least in "Raindrops") Souten. Oh, and for those of you who are curious, in Chapter 06 of Raindrops, Souten would be pregnant with Hotaru, their first child.

For those of you who remember, Souten was the last of the Raiju Tribe and youngest sibling of the Thunder Brothers, who had killed Shippo's family early in the series but were killed by Inuyasha and gang. She sought him out for revenge but ended up developing a crush on him at the end of their (highly hilarious) epic battle.

Souten only showed up in the anime, Episode 68 ONLY. But I loved her character so much, especially since she was so different from the usual village girls that Shippo fell for. Such a feisty and rough little girl. So much so that everyone thought she was a boy at first <3. I've also stated before, but the idea of these two getting together and starting a new family out of the one they both lost brings such a feeling of redemption and rebirth that it's positively too cute for me to pass up.

Their kids (or kits? All half fox, half thunder youkai) are...

I've had this doodle of Shippo's family for ages, but didn't want to post this or any other sketches I had of them because at the time, Chapter 06 was not yet done, but Souten had already been introduced into the doujinshi but her identity not yet revealed. So seeing Shippo here would have been a HUGE giveaway to the readers. I couldn't do this until after the chapter was done. lol. I guess now that they're here, expect them to make an appearance in later chapters. Oh, and I know in the anime her last name is Raiju. But I think even Shippo would still have a bit of a sore spot about taking up a name that belonged to his parent's murderers--the same with Souten (taking up the name of her tribe's demise) I figured that she and Shippo would want to change it over the years to accommodate them both (Shunrai = Spring Thunder. Spring for Shippo, and Thunder for Souten).

I really need to stop with the fanbabies.
