Arrietty fanart! Arrietty and Spiller! post movie. (which is why she doesn't have her hair clip)

I know that Mary Norton, the original author of "The Borrowers" intended for these two to eventually end up together. I always loved how wild and unkempt Spiller was in the Ghibli version. Does anyone else think of Tarzan and Jane when they see these two? lol.

I do have a mild complaint that the English dub made him sound more caveman-like than he really is. In the Japanese version he just seemed the more crude but silent type. Instead of all... grunty.

But I DO like the voice for Sho (Shawn) a ton more in the dub! He sounded way less creepy.

i loved the spiller in this movie, i wish he had had a bigger role or they would do a sequal! i would love a sequal but studio ghibli doesnt seem to do sequals :(

Love this!!! A very cute but subtle moment between the two, and I particularly love your 'splodgey?' style. I totally agree about the dubbed vs non-dubbed voice acting as well. I really didn't like that they made Spiller sound like a dumb cave-man. But yes, Sho's voice I felt was much more natural. :D Keep up the great work!

So I totally just watched this movie after seeing this picture... how did I not even know about this movie before!? I wish it had shown a bit more between Arrietty and Spiller though, he was hardly in the movie at all and I think it would have been nice if he got just a bit more screen time.
