This was inspired by a book I read when I was little about a little bird that fell out of it's nest when it hatched and asked a number of animals and objects if they were it's mother. I always thought it was sooo adorable. Even if I was in Pre-K when I first read it.
The book was called: "Are you my Mother?" by P.D. Eastman
An earlier version of this was done early in my High School Senior Year...but I lost it. TT.TT So I decided to redo it again.
In case anyone is too slow to figure it out... it's the DUCK that's asking the girl.
EDIT! fixed the image a bit so it's a bit more obvious that the girl is looking at the duck. ALSO! This image is now available as a PRINT!
I remember that book! It asked that one big yellow claw thingy...Can't remember the name, but he asked it if it was his mother. I loved that book. This is an amazing picture!
Ahh! That is one of my favorite childrens books! It's so sweet and sorta sad and wonderful (and unrealistic, because that duck totally would have just imprinted the first moving thing...but I love it all the same). Beautiful image, and I think you capture the essence of the book so well.
