Happy Belated Valentine's Day...

Youko/Keiki goodness!

Though I'm not adverse to Shoryu/Youko (obviously here) and Rakushun/Youko. But Keiki is just so darn awkwardly adorable. It always crossed my mind that if Keiki ever did fall in love with Youko, that he'd put himself in this eternal limbo of duty and want.

And for those who don't know, White Day is celebrated in Japan on March 14th. One month after Valentine's Day. People would give "thank you" gifts to their admirers who gave them stuff for Valentine's.

Usually girls gift boys Chocolates in February, and Boys would respond in March.

So this was... unexpected for me. I'm pretty sure Twelve Kingdoms is a rather obscure anime itself and most people won't get what's going on. You're missing out, btw, it's a fantastic anime. But I did it on a whim and I always remind myself that I do artwork for me, and not for others.

SO this is a result of me wanting to do more 12K Art, not having time or inspiration, and all of a sudden KABLOOWIE! It was meant to be short, but somehow I just kept tacking on panels and panels and now it's about the equivalent length of about 7-10 pages of doujinshi. Done at work in the expanse of a week during free time. Uh. Enjoy.

This series is sort of old, but WATCH IT IF YOU HAVEN'T! Or read the novels

p.s. The anime can be pretty hard to sit through the first couple of episodes, mainly because everyone is so darn unlikeable. But it's meant to be about character growth and OMG the best character development ever. I love it.

12K has been by far my favorite anime of all time for years now. I've always fancied the idea of a Youko/Keiki pairing since Youko has always seemed like the type of character to end up in a situation like that. After all she's always pushing the bar and surprising people. I do agree that Keiki would probably be stuck in limbo for quite some time over such a situation, but it would be amusing to watch him get through it
